Water Piece

Video work, Two-channel video, 00:06:08, 2016.

Water Piece is a video work performed with my twin sister, Justine, that revisits a childhood game of performing backflips and front flips in the water. Our bodies appear faceless and contained within the frame of the camera, shifting the focus away from individual identity and towards shared movement and rhythm. As the work progresses, we move from performing separately to swimming together within the same space, recalling the closeness of our earliest shared environment as twins. Water here becomes a space of memory and connection - a place where the boundaries between two bodies begin to soften.
